The Difference Between E-Commerce and E-Business
Many people know about the term e-commerce, but only few know that there are significant differences between e-commerce and e-business. The term e-commerce is more familiar than the term e-business when they are not the same, but the two terms seem to be dikerucutkan only one term e-commerce is also included as an e-business. Previously, please be aware and understand well the meaning of the term so that the discussion of e-commerce more specifically these two terms are not further debated.

E-commerce is an extension of the Electronic Commerce means trade conducted electronically. Just as e-mail (Electronic Mail) is already known means of sending electronic mail. In the book Introduction to Information Technology, e-commerce means electronic commerce includes the purchase, sale, transfer, or exchange of products, services or information through computer networks, including the Internet (Turban, 2005:181).

If classified e-commerce consists of the letter e, which means that electronic commerce and the means of trade. In conventional trade is known of the seller and buyer, then there is indeed trade goods or services sold, and of course there are purchasers. The word ‘trafficking’ itself stood to mean merely bargaining between sellers and buyers, and if they agreed to do so before the transaction. E-business has the same characteristics with the goal of conventional business, just e-business has a different scope. Businesses rely on meetings between businessmen as well as meeting a special place, or simply to meet with business partners, while e-business relies on Internet media as a means to achieve goals. According to Turban, e-business or electronic business refers to the definition of e-commerce more broadly, not just the buying and selling goods and services, but also customer service, collaboration with business partners, e-learning, and electronic transactions in the company (2005: 182).

Both the term e-commerce and e-business if not understood in advance will make the discussion about e-commerce itself is spinning and not systematic. This is caused by confusion determine the most appropriate terms to represent concepts by means of electronic commerce.

The fundamental difference between e-commerce and e-business is that e-commerce destination really money oriented (oriented toward the acquisition of money), while e-business oriented, long-term interests of the abstract nature such as consumer confidence, customer service, work rules, relationships between business partners, and handling other social problems.

Apart from such differences that have been mentioned e-commerce and e-business also has a common goal of promoting the company into a larger company than before. E-commerce and e-business is a breakthrough that could boost sales through online marketing and as a means of promoting products through the Internet media.
